Thank you for sharing your feedback throughout the Envision Cochrane 2050 process. Together we've created a plan that reflects our community's vision for how we live, work, play and thrive.
Through pop-up stations, surveys, conversations and community organization interviews, we gathered your feedback during three rounds of engagement over 18 months. Your input has helped to shape the Draft Envision Cochrane 2050 Plan, providing direction for municipal growth, infrastructure, servicing needs and land use. This draft includes policies on:
Growth
Land use
Community design
Housing
Parks, recreation and natural areas
Arts and culture
Community and protective services
Mobility
Servicing
Economic vitality
What's next? Finalizing the plan
Council will discuss the Plan on December 9th for Second Reading, then it will be circulated to the Calgary Metropolitan Region Board (CMRB). If the CMRB is comfortable with the policy alignment between their Regional Growth Plan and the Envision Cochrane 2050 Plan, then Council will give Third Reading in March 2025, thereby approving the Plan and allowing it to be used to inform Town strategic decisions.
Thank you for shaping the future
