Why is the Town conducting a review of policing services now?

The Town of Cochrane appreciates the hard work of the local detachment leadership, members and support staff. As the Town grows and our community becomes more diverseit is important to be proactive in exploring how our police services can continue to be responsive to the needs of the community, including the need for residents to feel safe.

How can residents participate in the study?

Residents are encouraged to participate in the online survey and engagement website. You must be a registered user on LetsTalkCochrane to be able to participate. Paper copies of the survey are available at The Station, The RanchHouse, and FCSS.

Will the results of the survey be made public?

A high-level What We Heard report will be shared with the public on LetsTalkCochrane after senior administration has reviewed come late Fall 2025.

How will public input be used?

The consultant hired will analyze the survey data gathered and the findings will be combined with other data gathered during the review to support a robust final report and recommendations for senior administration. There are no other further engagements planned beyond this study at this time.
