The budget is one of the Town’s most important planning tools—it determines how funding is allocated across services, infrastructure, and community priorities. Resident feedback ensures decisions reflect what matters most to the community and helps Council make informed trade-offs during budget discussions.

 A municipal budget funds the services and infrastructure that support daily life in Cochrane, including:

• Roads, pathways, and transportation
• Parks, recreation, and community spaces
• Emergency and protective services
• Growth and development

The Town must balance:

• Community expectations
• Population growth
• Rising costs and inflation
• Long-term financial sustainability

Your input helps guide these decisions.

Your input will be analyzed alongside other engagement results and used by Administration to shape the draft budget. All findings will be presented to Council in Fall 2026 to inform their review, debate, and final budget decisions. While not every suggestion can be implemented, all feedback directly contributes to the decision-making process.

The Town has partnered with Advanis, an independent research firm, to collect and analyze feedback. This ensures results are statistically reliable and representative of the community. All responses are confidential and reported in aggregate—your individual responses will not be shared.

The Town of Cochrane collects information from you when you register to use this site.
