How we engage

How we gather your input

We invite people to take part in different ways depending on the project and the decisions being considered.

You might be asked to complete a survey, join an online discussion, attend a workshop, or take part in a small group conversation.

We aim to make participation easy, accessible, and inclusive—often using a mix of approaches to reach more people and hear a range of perspectives.

How we plan and deliver engagement

Successful engagement starts with thoughtful planning. For each project, we consider the purpose, what decisions need to be made, and how the community can best be involved.

We plan the details—like choosing the right tools, sharing helpful background information, and making it clear how and when you can participate.

We also plan how input will be collected, reviewed, and communicated before, during, and after engagement.

How we share what we heard

After engagement closes, we review all feedback and share a summary of what we heard.

We explain how your input was considered and how it helped shape decisions, so you can see the impact of your participation.

You can expect clear, timely updates on what was discussed and what happens next.

How we learn and improve

We’re always working to improve how we engage with the community.

After each engagement, we reflect on what worked well and where we can do better—looking at who participated, how input was gathered, and how it informed decisions.

We use these insights to make future engagement more effective, inclusive, and responsive.
