About Moderation

This site is moderated by the Town of Cochrane Communications team, project administrators, and Social Pinpoint to maintain a safe, respectful, and productive environment for participation.

The Town of Cochrane recognizes the importance of engaging with the community to share accurate and timely information, encourage public dialogue, and build trust. Digital engagement supports our commitment to public service and meaningful civic participation.

We use post-moderation, meaning content is published immediately and then reviewed. Content that does not meet participation guidelines may be edited or removed. Content may also be temporarily removed while under review. If your submission does not meet the guidelines, it may be rejected and you may be notified by email.

We reserve the right to edit or remove any content at our discretion. By participating, you agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

Participation Rules & Guidelines

To keep this space respectful, constructive and safe for all, participants must:

  • Be respectful and constructive
    Focus on ideas, not individuals. Do not engage in personal attacks, harassment or defamatory statements.
  • Use appropriate language and content
    Do not post obscene, offensive or discriminatory content.
  • Protect privacy
    Do not share personal or identifying information about yourself or others.
  • Be accurate and responsible
    Do not post false, misleading or harmful claims.
  • Avoid illegal or harmful content
    This includes content promoting violence, self-harm or unlawful activity.
  • No spam or promotion
    Do not post advertisements, repetitive comments or irrelevant links.
  • Respect intellectual property
    Only share content you have permission to use.
  • Stay on topic
    Keep contributions relevant to the engagement.
  • Follow these rules across all formats
    Including images, links, emojis and other media.

Enforcement

To ensure the Let’s Talk Cochrane site remains professional and safe for all participants:

  • Content that violates these rules will be removed.
  • Users who repeatedly violate these guidelines may be blocked from the site.
  • The Communications department reserves the right to remove users if they fail to follow these guidelines or expected standards of conduct.
