Let's plan together and shape how our community grows and evolves!
Envision Cochrane 2050 provides opportunities for everyone in Cochrane to have a say in how our community lives, works, plays and thrives. This engagement will lead to the Envision Cochrane 2050 Plan that will guide municipal growth, infrastructure and servicing needs and land use.
We are now in the final phase of the project and are seeking input from Cochrane residents to confirm our key directions.
The draft plan includes policy around topics including:
Growth
Land Use
Community Design
Housing
Parks, Recreation and Natural Areas
Arts and Culture
Community and Protective Services
Mobility
Servicing
Economic Development
This is your chance to review the draft plan and provide feedback before the plan is shared with Council for approval in Fall 2024. Public engagement on the Draft Envision Cochrane 2050 Plan is open to August 18, 2024
To participate you can:
Read the draft plan (see the link at the top left under 'Documents')
Provide feedback on one, two or all of the surveys below.
The first survey covers the plan's vision, goals and values and should take approximately 10 minutes
The second survey provides an opportunity to share feedback related to each of the plan's topic areas and should take between 20 to 40 minutes
The third survey includes the Draft Generalized Future Development Map for you to provide feedback on and should take between 5 to 10 minutes.
Attend a Community Conversation Event (see the details in the menu to the left)
Provide feedback at one of our engagement displays installed at the SLS Centre, The Library, The Station and The Ranchehouse
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on the future of Cochrane!
Phase 2 Engagement summary
Thanks to everyone who provided their priorities for arts and culture, parks and open space, and economic development, as well as provided insight into what you like, and what can be improved in our downtown, neighbourhood centres and development corridors.
From pop-up engagement stations at key locations to an online survey, face-to-face conversations and interviews with community groups, Cochrane residents had many opportunities to share their input from February 15 to March 17 2024.
Read the Envision Cochrane 2050 Phase 2 Engagement Summary to discover what we heard about your vision for Cochrane’s future!
Phase 3: Finalizing the Plan
We are now drafting the Plan anchored in public feedback, Council insight, Town staff experiences and needs, and the latest information available about Cochrane. Check back this summer to find information about our final phase of engagement to review the plan and provide additional feedback.
